Caffeinated Soap, Caffeinated Beer, Caffeinated Blood…
XoreRecently, i’ve seen more and more caffeine-related products on the market, typically aimed at geeks, ranging from caffeinated soap to caffeinated mints to caffeinated beer. Today, i rolled up my sleeves and gave blood, and i figured that for the amount of coffee i drink on a regular basis (3-6 1.5 cup mugs daily) that my blood contains a hefty amount of caffeine. I hafta wonder if maybe this isn’t such a great thing to do, i’d hate to see some poor sucker on the operating table get a good kick of caffeine during a heart transplant, enough to bring them up and screaming out of morphine induced slumber. Wheee!!!.
With that said, i’m going to recommend you all to go out and give blood, because it’s a Good Thing To Do. Also, the past couple times i’ve donated, the volunteers and workers there have seen a rising milf population, so let that be another incentive for you to go and check it out
Edit: I also got a little sticker that says you’re supposed to be nice to me today.

Also today, i dropped off my borky external usb encasement, hopefully I’ll have a replacement back up and running soon. Also, on my way to the donors clinic, i stopped by a used book place and picked up the first two Books of George R.R. Martin’s ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’. The third wasn’t there, which was too bad. I read the books a year ago, and they totally blew me away, i’ve been meaning to get myself the series but haven’t had the chance too before now. I used to be a big Robert Jordan Fan (i’ve got volumes 1-10 in hardcover, with 8 and 10 autographed), but ASOIAF really just blew me away. It keeps the global story in perspective, while still keeping the paths of the main characters lively and interesting… something Jordan tries to do but starts to fail miserably once you get past book 7. I almost want to try the card game that Absath’s been mentioning in his current comic Arc, but i’ve also found that generally CCGs are a money sink that i end up regretting.
Also, check out the trailer for Serenity. I can’t wait for that movie to come out. If you haven’t seen Firefly, you don’t know what you’re missing.

I get sick at the sight of them :p

I would give blood, but only at clinics, my school has annual blood drives but their voleenteers are less than comforting….
Stories go along the lines of them not being able to draw blood when they stick them with the needle to people pukeing all day after giving blood.
I’ll try to give blood next time it comes though, also I plan to donate my body to science, I mean, I’m not going to use it ^_^;

Firefly is on my list of stuff to see… after Gattaca (see IMDB), which comes after Samurai Champloo, which comes after Full metal panic: fumoffu, which comes after homework. You get the idea
.
My to-watch list has been running kind of slowly as I’ve been limiting myself to one episode of anime/day, and only that if I finish all of my homework.
Anyway, those books look pretty cool. I should check ‘em out.

Gattaca was a great movie. And Uma Thurman ^_^. Pretty decent soundtrack also.

Ehhhhh….as much as giving blood is a good thing to do, I wouldn’t do it, at least not until I’m fairly confident I won’t, ah, faint while giving blood. Or after. Who knows, I’ve got a few years til I’m 18.
Also have a morbid fear of needles…well, not needles in particular, but long, sharp objects that are meant to be stuck inside be in general. Those things freak me out.
Xore, on the flip side, someone could just have lost a lot of blood and then thank you greatly - for the blood, and the caffeine.
That’s a lot of coffee, by the way. Say, if we snuck into Xore’s desert residence and removed all supplies of coffee, or better yet, took control of them…he’d go into withdrawal and be at our mercy.

That’s not really funny… withdrawal really, really sucks. I’ve kicked the bean for as much as 50 days at a time, the first 2 weeks… incapable of rational thought, doped up on tylenol, drinking water by the gallon. not fun x_x.
Speaking of which, since i just moved today, i can no longer rely on my parent’s coffee supply, i’m going to have to go out tomorrow morning before my first cup and buy some at the store. eugh. Me, out of a place of residence, pre-coffee, is not a pretty sight.
