Me, code, and a stick
XoreGot my hands into a variety of things today. Put a little more development work into Locus, enough to realize that i need to put a lot of work into tightening up the XML specs, or i’ll end up looking really stupid when the project gets released to the public. I’m going to be working on it some more tonight, but i’ve got a couple other things i need to finish first.
One of those things is a small set of updates for llp. Mainly, i’m sick of having to forward all PMs the bot gets to Trel so he can handle them, so i’m inserting a code hook to spew it all out to a private forum. Unfortunately, the post insert code is a little buggy. Since i’d rather not give too many details, i can summarize what i’m doing in a low quality, but highly informative image:
I’ll admit, i had more fun making the image than beating the code with the stick.
Other than that, i’ll probably be working on more advanced customization of WP. I created a new template (amazing! it looks exactly like Kubrick! how did you do that, Xore?!) which i will be gradually altering to my own preferences as time or fancy strikes me.

Keep at it. Big sticks always work eventually.
There comes that one time where you plug in the correct code and it finally does exactly what you want. I always end up doing the Tiger Woods fist pump when I finally get it right after hours of debugging.

Actually, i finally got it working about 20 minutes ago. It was simply a matter of getting the right combination of addslashes, stripslashes, str_replace(”\’”,”‘’”, str_replace(”\\”,”\\\\”, str_replace(”‘”,”‘’”, together in the right order…
It was somewhat anticlimactic, but at least this leaves me with time to get back on track with locus this evening. Unless there’s other big things that need to be done to the system before llp’s monthly update. (I hope not)
