Camels in the Mist

So… yea. i’m a lazy SOB.

Mostly, i’m the kind of person who’s more inclined to write my own blog software (as a phpBB MOD) than to install a script like Wordpress. The thing is, i was bored as hell this evening, and i came to the realization that i’m not really interested in modding for 2.0 anymore… especially now that i’ve dug myself as deep as i have into the 3.0 environment. So… yea. I’m a lazy SOB, and as a result, you’re seeing a blog that would have otherwise come after several days or weeks of software development, since i hate halfway measures. I guess it’s also a good idea to get familiar with what features people like to see with blogging software, so i know what to do when i get into 3.0 modding mode. etc etc.

What to write about today? Well, it’s Easter evening, and the wine is making me a bit drowsy. Family and friends-of-family are great and all, but it’s difficult to talk about the things you’re interested in with someone who doesn’t know the difference between an LCD and a CRT, much less why a variable called $lookup_meh_pants is the funniest thing i’ve seen so far from a meth addict… it’s not like i’m better than any of them or that my sense of humor resides on a higher plane than those poor mortals are capable of comprehending… they don’t relate and i can hardly blame them, much less than they can blame me for not giving two shits that they like some pop star’s latest hit. I guess what it gets down to is that often the “holidays” tend to make me more depressed than not.

It’s nice though that once in a while, you can talk to someone who understands, even if you only get the chance to talk to them online for a bit. Thanks.
